We’re all together again, we’re here, we’re here
We’re all together again, we’re here, we’re here
And who knows when,
We’ll be all together again?
Isn’t it a bit of luck,
That I was born a baby duck.
With yellow socks and yellow shoes,
I can go wherever I choose.
I’m a duck, QUACK, QUACK,
I’m a duck, QUACK, QUACK
I’m a duck, I’m a duck, I’m a duck,
QUACK, QUACK
BARGES
Out of my window, looking in the night
I can see the barges’ flickering light
Silently flows the river to the sea
And the barges too go silently
CHORUS:
Barges, I would like to go with you
I would like to sail the ocean blue
Barges have you treasures in your hold
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold
Out of my window, looking in the night
I can see the barges’ flickering light
Starboard shines green and port is glowing red
I can see them flickering far ahead
CHORUS
How my heart longs to sail away with you
As you sail across the ocean blue
But I must sit beside my window dear
And watch you sail away from here
CHORUS
Out of my window looking in the night
I can see the barges’ flickering light
Harbor ahead and anchorage in view
I will find my resting place with you
CHORUS
Away from my window on into the night
I will watch ‘til they are out of sight
Taking their cargo far across the sea
How I’d wish that someday they would take me
CHORUS
Out of my window looking through the night
I can see the barges' flickering light
People are sailing far and far away
And I hope to go with them one day
CHORUS
BAZOOKA BUBBLE GUM
My mom gave me a penny
She said go buy a henny
But I didn’t buy a henny
CHORUS:
Instead I bought some bubble gum
Bazooka zooka bubble gum
Bazooka zooka bubble gum
My mom gave me a nickel
She said go buy a pickle
But I didn’t buy a pickle
CHORUS
My mom gave me a dime
She said go buy a lime
But I didn’t buy a lime
CHORUS
My mom gave me a quarter
She said go buy some mortar
But I didn’t buy some mortar
CHORUS
My mom gave me a dollar
She said go buy a collar
But I didn’t buy a collar
CHORUS
My mom gave me a five
She said go stay alive
Buy I didn’t stay alive
Instead I choked on bubble gum
Bazooka zooka bubblegum,

Boatmen dance; the boatmen sing,
The boatmen do most anything.
When the boatmen come on the shore,
They spend their money and they work for more.
High ho the boatmen go
Up and down the river on the Ohio
High ho the boatmen go
Up and down the river on the Ohio
BLACK SOCKS
Black
socks, they never get dirty,
The longer you wear them,
The blacker they get,
Sometimes I think about washing
But something inside me says, "Oh no, not yet!"
Knee
socks, they never stay up
The long you wear them,
The shorter they get,
Sometimes I think about anklets
But something inside me says, "Oh no, not yet!"
Girl
Scouts, they never are quiet
The longer you're near them,
The louder they get
Sometimes I think about muzzles
But something inside me says, "Oh no, not yet!"
(Repeat song)
Early in the morning
When I’m fast asleep
I hear a birdie chirping
I hear a little peep
Outside my window
There is a funny bird
It’s a clanga, clanga feagle frugle
Ashnaback a beagle bugle
Ear splitting, loud booming bird!
A boy and a girl in a little canoe,
with the moon shining all
around.
As they paddled and paddled their little canoe,
you couldn't hear another
sound.
So, they talked and they talked,
'til the moon grew dim.
Then he said,
"You gotta kiss me or get
out and swim!"
So, whatcha gonna do in a little canoe,
with the moon shining all around?
A boy and a girl in a little canoe,
with the moon shining all
around.
As they paddled and paddled their little canoe,
you couldn't hear another
sound.
So, they talked and they talked,
'til the moon grew dim.
Then he said,
"You gotta kiss me or get
out and swim!"
So, whatcha gonna do in a little canoe,
with the moon shining all a-boats floating all a-girls swimming all around?
Some call it fun, but me I call it madness
So come along with us,
We’ll wipe away your sadness
Happy campers are we, living under the trees
And when we are gone,
You’ll remember our song
‘Cus we are CAMP CAMP BUTTERWORTH
CAMP CAMP BUTTERWORTH
CAMP CAMP BUTTERWORTH
CAMP CAMP BUTTERWORTH
CAMP
Rise up o’ flame by thy lights glowing
Bring to us beauty, rhythm, and grace
Fire’s burning, fire’s burning,
Draw nearer, draw nearer
To the glow, to the glow
Come sing and be merry
(Tune of Jingle Bells)
When I was a camper, I never liked to eat
The cook put things upon my plate,
I’d dump them on his feet
But then one day he made this soup,
I couldn’t get enough. I asked the cook to tell me
What is in this stuff?
CHORUS:
Ohhhh, Chicken lips, lizard hips, alligator eyes
Monkey legs, buzzard eggs and salamander thighs
Rabbit ears, camel rears, tasty toenail pies
Stir them all together, it’s called the cook’s surprise
I went into the bathroom and stood beside the sink
I said I’m feeling slightly ill, I think I’d like a drink
The cook he said “I’ve just the thing, I’ll get it in a wink.
It’s full of lots of protein and vitamins I think.”
CHORUS
CHICKY
Hey ____, you’re one cool cat
You got a lot of this and you got a lot of that
But can you do the chicky chicky?
(Shake hands in air)
Hands up chicky chicky ohh chicky chicky
(Shake hands with arms lowered)
Hands down chicky chicky ohh chicky chicky
(Shake hips)
Babosh chicky chicky ohh chicky chicky
I’m a little coconut living in a coconut rut
Everybody stomps on me; I’m as crazy as I can be
CHORUS:
I’m a nut (clap, clap); In a rut (clap, clap)
And I’m crazy
Called myself on the telephone,
just to see if I was home
Asked myself out on a date,
said be ready half past eight
CHORUS
Took myself to the picture show,
sat right down in the very front row
Wrapped my arms around my waist,
got so fresh I slapped my face
CHORUS
I can sing and I can dance, I wear ruffles on my whoops
Boys take another guess, I wear ruffles on my dress
CHORUS
Da moose, da moose
Swimmin’ in the water
Eatin’ his supper
Where did he go
He went to sleep
Dewy is the grass at the break of day
Dewy was the admiral at Manila Bay
Dewy were her eyes as she bid her love adieu
Do we love each other; I should say we do.
Do we love each other; I should say we do.
There she goes just a walkin’ into camp
Singing’ do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo
She doesn’t care if it’s windy or it’s damp
Singin’ do wah diddy diddy dum didy doo
Looks good, looks fine, drives her leader out of her mind.
There she goes just a puttin’ up her tent
She doesn’t care if it’s fallen or it’s bent
Singin’ do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo
There she goes down to the stinky latrine,
She doesn’t want to use it ‘cause it isn’t very clean
Singin’ do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo
There she goes just a talkin’ through the night,
Then she wants to sleep when the sun is shinin’ bright
Singin’ do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo
There she waves to all the friends she got to meet,
Headin’ home she’s a groovin’ to the beat.
Singin’ do wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo
Welllllllll I ran around the corner
And I ran around the block
And I ran right in to the donut shop. Uhhhhhh!
Well I picked up the donut
And I wiped off the grease
And I handed the lady a five-cent piece
Wellllllll she looked at the nickel and she looked at me
And she said this money isn’t good you see
There’s a hole in the middle and it goes right through
And I said there’s a hole in the donut too!
Thanks for the donut – toodooloo!
DUNDERBECK
CHORUS:
Oh Dunderbeck, Oh Dunderbeck
How could you be so mean
to ever have invented the sausage meat machine
Now all the neighbors’ cats and dogs
will never more be seen
‘Cause they've been ground to sausage meat in Dunderbeck’s machine
One day a little fat boy came walking in the store
He bought a pound of sausage meat and laid it on the floor
Then he began to whistle; he whistled up a tune
And all the little sausage meat went dancing around the room
CHORUS
One day the machine got busted, the darn thing wouldn't work
So Dunderbeck he crawled inside to see what made it quirk
His wife she had a nightmare; she walked in her sleep
And she gave the machine a whicky whack
And Dunderbeck was meat.

Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head
Then along came the Good Fairy and she said

When it comes to “she stopped in front of me,” the girl in the middle picks one person and stands in front of them, and does a dance. When it says, “now switch” they switch places and the other girl mirrors her dance.
The new girl skips around the circle and they sing it again.)

A fire
burns bright; it warms the heart.
We've been friends from the very start.
You have
one hand; I have the other.
Put them together and we have each other.
Silver is
precious; gold is too.
I am precious and so are you.
You help
me, and I'll help you
And together we will see it through.
The sky
is blue, the Earth is green
I can help to keep it clean.

Miss Mary Mack,
Mack, Mack,
All dressed in black, black, black,
With silver buttons, buttons, buttons,
All down her back, back, back
She asked her mother, mother, mother,
For fifty cents, cents, cents,
To see the elephant, elephant, elephant,
Jump over the fence, fence, fence.
He jumped so high, high, high,
He reached the sky, sky, sky,
And he never came back, back, back,
‘Till the fourth of July, ‘ly, ‘ly.
The more we get together, together, together,
The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.
‘Cause your friends are my friends,
And my friends are your friends.
The more we get together,
The happier we’ll be.
(Pick one person for the middle. She closes her eyes and turns. At the end of the song, she stops and points to a new girl to stand in the middle.)
We went to old Kentucky, the old Kentucky fair
To see a senorita, with flowers in her hair.
Shake it, shake it, shake it,
Shake it all you can.
Shake it like a milkshake,
And do the best you can.
Turn and turn and turn and turn,
Until we holler STOP.
CHORUS:
On my honor I will try,
There’s a duty to be done and I say “aye”
There’s a reason here for a reason up above
My honor is to try and my duty is to love
People don’t need to know my name
If I’ve done any harm then I’m to blame
If I’ve helped anyone then I’ve helped me
If I’ve opened up my eyes to see
I’ve tucked away a song or two,
When you’re feeling low, there’s one for you
If you need a friend, then I will come
And there’s many more where I come from
CHORUS
Come with me where a fire burns bright
We can even see better by candle’s light
We can find more meaning in a campfire’s glow
Than we ever learned in a year or so
We’ve made a promise to always keep
And we pray night falls before we sleep
We’ll be Girl Scouts together and when we’re gone
We’ll still be trying and a singing this song
CHORUS
ON THE LOOSE
Judith Keller
CHORUS:
On the loose to
climb a mountain, on the loose where I am free
On the loose to live my life the way I think my life should be
For I've only got a moment and this whole world yet to see
I'll be looking for tomorrow on the loose
Have you
ever watched the sunrise turn the sky completely red?
Have you slept beneath the moon and stars, a pine bough for your bed?
Do you sit and talk with friends though not a word is ever said?
Then you're just like me and you've been on the loose CHORUS
There's a
trail that I'll be hiking just to see where it might go
Many places yet to visit, many people yet to know
And in following my dreams, I will live and I will grow
On a trail that's waiting out there on the loose CHORUS
Have you
ever heard a whippoorwill singing to the morning dew?
When you hear the bells ringing, do you know they ring for you?
And when you look back on the past, all I really ask
Is to remember me when you're out on the loose CHORUS
So in
search of love and laughter I'll be traveling 'cross this land
Never sure of where I'm going for I haven't any plan
And in time when you are ready, come and join me, take my hand
And together we'll share life out on the loose CHORUS
As I sit
and watch the sunset and the daylight slowly fades
I am thinking of tomorrow and the friendships we have made
I will value them for always and I hope you'll do the same
And forever we'll explore life on the loose CHORUS
On top
of spaghetti, all covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed.
It rolled off of the table,
and onto the floor.
Then my poor meatball, rolled right through the door.
It rolled into the garden,
and under a bush,
And now my poor meatball is nothing but mush.
Way up north where the cold wind blows,
The temperature drops to 40 below.
Who’s the friendliest one we know –
Percy, the pale face polar bear.
Sleeps all day and then at night,
Catch a few fish by the pale moonlight.
Has no worries, has no cares –
Percy, the pale face polar bear.
Then one day a hunter came,
Grabbed old Percy by the snout.
Put him in a great big cage,
And he howled and he growled, but he couldn’t get out.
So they put him in a zoo,
Funny thing is he liked it too.
‘Cus he met his girlfriend there,
And she likes – Percy, the pale face polar bear.
WHO? Percy, the pale face polar bear.
I wear my flannel nighty in the winter when it’s not
And sometimes in the springtime
And sometimes in the fall
I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all
Glory, Glory hallelujah
Glory, Glory hallelujah
With nothing on at all!
The Princess Pat lives in a tree
She sailed across the seven seas
She sailed across the channel too
And she took with her a rig of bamboo
It’s something made by the Princess Pat
It’s red and gold and purple too
That’s why it’s called - a rig of bamboo
Now Captain Jack, has a mighty fine crew
He sailed across the channel too
But his ship sank, and yours will too
If you don’t take a rig of bamboo
CHORUS
Pump it up, pump pump it up
We are the Girl Scouts - Pump it up
We’re feelin’ fine - Pump it up
If you mess with us - Pump it up
We’ll blow your mind - Pump it up
It’s just a clang clang choo choo train
Wind us up and we’ll do our thing
No peanut butter, no Reese cup
You mess with us and we’ll show you up
SHE WEARS A “G”
She wears a G for generosity
She wears an I for interest too
She wears an R for real life sportsmanship
She wears an L for loyalty, for loyalty
She wears an S for her sincerity
She wears a C for courtesy, for courtesy
She wears an O-U-T for outdoor life
And you can bet she’s a real Girl Scout
G-I-R-L S-C-O-U-T
And you can bet she’s a real Girl Scout!
The cutest boy I ever saw
Was sippin' cider through a straw
Tee hee haw haw
I asked him if he'd show me how
To sip that cider through a straw
Tee hee haw haw
First cheek to cheek then jaw to jaw
We sipped that cider through a straw
Tee hee haw haw
Then all at once
That darn straw slipped
Then we sipped cider lip to lip
Tee hee haw haw
That's how I got
My mother-in-law
And 49 kids to call me ma
Tee hee haw haw
The moral of the story is
Don't you sip cider through a straw
DRINK MILK!
I woke up Sunday morning. I looked up on the wall;
The skeeters and the bedbugs were having a game of ball.
The score was 3 to nothing. The skeeters were ahead.
The bedbugs hit a home-run and knocked me out of bed.
CHORUS:
I’m singin’ eener, meener and a minor moe.
Catch a whipper, whopper by his toe.
And if he hollar, hollar, hollars don’t let him go.
I’m singin’ eener, meener and a minor moe.
I went downstairs for breakfast. I ordered ham and eggs.
I also got a pickle. The juice ran down my legs.
CHORUS
My mother is an agent. My father is a spy.
And I’m the little big mouth who told the FBI.
CHORUS
SMILE SONG
I’ve got something in my pocket,
That belongs across my face,
I keep it very close at hand,
In a most convenient place.
I‘m sure you couldn’t guess it,
If you guessed a long, long while.
So I’ll take it out and put it on,
It’s a great big happy smile.
SOFTLY FALLS
Softly falls the light of day
As our campfire fades away.
Silently each Scout should ask,
Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless rest tonight?
Have I done and have I dared,
Everything to be prepared.
I have kept my honor bright,
I can guiltless rest tonight.
I have done and I have dared,
Everything to be prepared.
TAPS
Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills
From the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh
THERE WAS A GIRL SCOUT
(Tune of BINGO)
There was a Girl Scout long ago
And Daisy was her name-o
D-A-I-S-Y
D-A-I-S-Y
D-A-I-S-Y
And Daisy was her name-o
THIS WAY VALERIE
(Tune of SHORTENIN’ BREAD)
This game works best with a fairly large group. You will need to have the girls get a buddy and then form 2 lines with the buddies facing each other. As soon as you have them in 2 straight lines, they can start singing the song:
This way Valerie, that way Valerie,
This way Valerie, all the way home.
Girls join hands with their buddy and sing this part while moving arms in a sawing motion – back and forth
Strut Miss Lucy, strut Miss Lucy,
Strut Miss Lucy, all the way home.
Head girl in one line passes between the 2 lines making up any movement she wishes and falls in at the foot of the opposite line
Here comes another one, just like the other one.
Here comes another one, all the way home.
Buddy of the previous girl copies the movements just done by her buddy as she passes between the 2 lines and then joins the foot of the opposite line.
Both lines move up a little bit and repeat the song over and over and over again until everyone has had a turn.
The girls will eventually start getting quite creative in their actions if you play this many times.
THREE CHARTREUSE BUZZARDS
Three chartreuse buzzards,
Three chartreuse buzzards
Sitting in a dead tree,
Sitting in a dead tree
Oh look, one has flown away
That is too bad
Two… One…
No chartreuse buzzards,
No chartreuse buzzards
Sitting in a dead tree,
Sitting in a dead tree
Oh look, one has re-turned
Let us re-joice
One…Two…
Three chartreuse buzzards,
Three chartreuse buzzards
Sitting in a dead tree,
Sitting in a dead tree
Now they’re all here
This is the end
THUNDERATION
Thunder, Thunderation
We’re the Girl Scout Association
When we work with determination
We create a SENSATION!
There is a little turkey
He wears some funny pants
And when he gets excited
He does the turkey dance
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
There is a little turkey
He wears a funny wig
And when he gets excited
He does a turkey jig
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
There is a little turkey
He likes to shake and move
And when he gets excited
He does his turkey groove
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
There was a little turkey
He used to run and play
But now he is my dinner
On Thanksgiving Day!
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
Doo do doo, doo do doo, do do do
Way down yonder not far away
A blue jay died of a whooping cough
He whooped and he whooped
and he whooped so hard
He blew his head and his tail right off
Second verse same as the first
A little bit louder and whole lot worse
Whene’er you make a promise
Consider well its importance
And when made, engrave it upon your heart
PATRIOTIC SONGS
Katharine Lee Bates, Samuel Ward
O beautiful for spacious
skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America!
America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Rev. Samuel F. Smith
My country, 'tis of Thee,
Sweet Land of Liberty
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From every mountain side
Let Freedom ring.
Francis Scott Key
Oh, say can you see by the
dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
George Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

APPLESEED GRACE
Words and music by Kim Gannon & Walter Kent
The Lord is good to me
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need
The sun and the rain and the apple seed
Yes, He's been good to me
I owe the Lord so much
For everything I see
I'm certain if it weren't for Him
There'd be no apples on this limb
Yes, He's been good to me
Oh here am I neath a blue blue sky
A doin' as I please
Singin' with my feathered friends,
Hummin with the bees
Yes, He's been good to me
I wake up every day as happy as can be
Because I know that with His care
My apple trees
They will still be there
Oh the Lord is good to me
And every seed that grows
Shall grow into a tree
And one day soon there'll be apples there
For every one in the world to share
The Lord is good to me.
